Texas School Procedures is very proud of our growing training section. All of our training pieces provide research-based and legal practices intertwined with activities to deepen the learning and understanding of the topics presented. Some of the topics are mandated training, and others are recommended or requested training from district requests. Be sure to watch the upcoming newsletters for new and updated trainings to aid districts and campuses in growing their staff’s knowledge and best practices.

The latest TxSP updated training piece is a comprehensive training for school counselors to engage in empathetic and non-threatening conversations with students who are having thoughts of suicidal ideation. The training includes:

  • Part One: Awareness and Prevention
  • Part Two: Intervention and Response

One of TxSP’s subscribing districts experienced an unusual inter-district transfer situation that was not addressed in our series of Transfer filing cabinets and drawers in the District Operational Section. While we addressed that situation, we updated all the Transfer protocols and documents.

Another request from one of our subscribing districts was for TxSP to develop an application for students who are interested in becoming a student aide. We hope that the application will not only help the requesting district, but others who use students as aides as well.

Hopefully, dog bites on campuses are not a regular occurrence. However, because one of TxSP’s subscribing districts had a dog bite for the first time, we were asked to develop procedures for these situations. Please click the links below to see the administrator’s role and the nurse’s role for dog bites.

Additionally, see the protoccol and documents for having animals on campus.
