Is your district using the TxSP Nurse's Section?

Is your district secure in your procedures if a campus has an outbreak of Pediculosis or Bed Bugs?

Nurses and teachers should be aware of the protocols to follow when a student is suspected of having bed bugs or head lice.  The procedures for both include involving the school Nurse, communication without accusation to key players for their action, and follow-up inspections. Communication is essential to remedy the infection.

Diabetes is Growing at an Alarming Rate
Is your District Prepared?

TxSP has developed a cabinet in the Nursing Section to address both Treatment Plans and UDCA Training.  In 2021, 38.4 Americans, or 11.6%, had a type of diabetes. Two million of those had Type 1 diabetes, including approximately 304,000 children and adolescents. Not only will nurses need to be informed about students or staff on their campus with this disease, but responsibilities for care and communication between school and home are essential for their well-being.
