Challenging Library Books & Other Instructional Resources

Parents or community members may challenge various materials on school campuses in the classroom and the library. When an item is challenged, it is important for Districts to know under which of the two categories the challenged material falls: Adopted Instructional Materials (textbooks, ancillary materials, etc.) or Selected Instructional Resources (library books, classroom libraries, teacher/librarian chosen resources, etc.) and the correct process for each.

Threats, Guns on Campus, and School Shootings

With the increase in school shootings and students bringing weapons to schools, it is imperative that Districts are prepared to know which students might be at risk and what interventions and actions need to be taken to prevent harm to our school communities.
