TxSP Loves to Hear from our Districts!
I had a wonderful experience this week interacting with some of our current and new subscribing districts. From those experiences, TxSP is paying attention.
I spoke with a deputy superintendent from one of our brand-new subscribing districts. We had a great discussion about the new law regarding the use of personal electronic communication devices during the school day.
Based on that discussion, TxSP has:
- Updated the protocol to incorporate considerations that should be included in the student handbook and policy.
- Provided more information to support districts that wish to prohibit devices being brought on campus, and to those who want the students to be able to possess the devices, but not use them.
- Added some reflection sheets for students and possible consequences to consider as required under law.
- Updated letters to make them more flexible.
