Social media presents multiple challenges for schools, staff members, and students. It is important for campuses to:

  1. Establish clear expectations and consistent procedures for both staff and students.
  2. Educate students and parents on the dangers and challenges of using social media.
  3. Educate staff members on the potential consequences of inappropriate use of personal or professional postings on social media channels.
  4. Use technology for learning without relying on social media and using platforms that limit distractions.
  5. Monitor and support students who may be struggling with social media addiction.
