Look What's New!
TxSP’s website development team has been working diligently to add new and improved features to our website.
Check out TxSP’s new Search Feature: When you pull up a document/s, you will NOW see a path to show you what section, filing cabinet, filing drawer, and folder the document/s are located.
Site Map: Have you ever wanted to print out the Site Map? Well, now you can. Go to the bottom of the website and click on the Site Map, and you will see a red button to click. When you press the red button Print Complete List of Documents, it will take about 15 seconds for the document to be downloaded for you to print.

Attendance
Every absence is a missed opportunity for learning. Chronic absences not only affect learning but causes a loss of operating money from the state. TxSP has recently updated the following protocols and documents for Districts to remember their responsibilities regarding the following topics related to attendance. As a reminder, TEC, Section 25.092, requires all K-12 students to attend school 90% of the time a class or course is offered.
- All campus administrators and attendance staff should be aware of the compulsory attendance laws and exceptions. Notice the documentation in this section that students must provide to be excused.
- Students who fall below 90% but stay above 75% attendance must have a plan approved by the principal.
- Students who fall below 75% attendance must be referred to an attendance committee.
- Be sure everyone is up-to-date on the non-attendance and no-show requirements (particularly before a student can be withdrawn by the district).
- For administrators or attendance staff who would like some talking points when contacting parents about attendance, see our suggestions.
Dyslexia
With the new requirements of shifting dyslexia testing through Special Education (unless a parent does not give permission), we have completed an overview and updated all sections in our Dyslexia filing cabinet. There may be more minor changes or additions in the future, as it is important to remember that TxSP is constantly reviewing and updating. Please check the following filing drawers:
