Recent legislation has resulted in numerous changes impacting how districts manage Instructional Materials as well as Attendance and Truancy.  It is imperative that districts be familiar with these new requirements and implement processes accordingly.  Additionally, revisions have been made to our Search and Seizure materials based on new legal updates and research.

When students are not in the classroom, gaps in learning are occuring and students are not staying on grade level. To ensure the campus is providing all the strategies for attendance, see the Truancy Process and TxSP’s “Welcome Intervention Program.”

There are many expectations at the campus level to improve attendance. Have your campus and administrators reviewed the TxSP’s CO Section on attendance to ensure the campus is capturing all the students not coming to school for various reasons and the lost dollars from high absence rates?
