To be in compliance with the Texas Women’s Privacy Act (Senate Bill 8, 89th Legislature, 2nd Called Session), which takes effect on December 4, 2025, school districts must strictly adhere to new mandates regarding the designation and use of restrooms, locker rooms, and changing facilities.

The law requires political subdivisions, including school districts, to designate multi-occupancy private spaces for the exclusive use of persons of one biological sex. Failure to comply can result in civil penalties of $25,000 for a first violation and $125,000 for subsequent violations.
